Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - Canpotex has once again received the Saskatchewan’s Top Employers designation for 2024. This recognition spotlights Saskatchewan-based employers who excel in offering outstanding workplace environments.

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre (SFBLC) is initiating the “First Bites” campaign throughout February, rallying the community to join forces in the fight against child hunger.

Due to increasing demand for potash and strong engagement in key offshore markets, Canpotex is fully committed on shipments of potash through December 31, 2023. This demand is being supported by solid fundamentals for agricultural commodities in numerous growing regions. In addition, there continues to be a strong focus on food security in many of Canpotex’s markets.

Canpotex is withdrawing all offers for new sales following the resumption of strike activity at the Port of Vancouver and continued loss of export capacity at Neptune Terminals, and will not make any new offers until there is greater clarity on supply chain predictability through the Port of Vancouver.  Approximately 70% of all Canpotex potash exports are handled by Neptune Terminals annually.

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Canpotex has committed $450,000 to the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre (SFBLC) over the next three years, with a primary focus on providing healthy food for infants and children in the Saskatoon community. This donation is in response to the troubling statistics revealing that one in five children in Saskatchewan are experiencing poverty and 41% of people relying on SFBLC emergency food hampers are children.

Canpotex has reached an agreement with China’s potash buying committee for standard grade potash shipments through to December 31, 2023, at a price of US$307/MT on a CFR basis.

Last week, a failure occurred on a conveyor at Canpotex’s Portland Bulk Terminal.  There were no injuries to people or impacts to the environment.  Canpotex is assessing the damage and all potash loading at the terminal is curtailed until the conveyor can be repaired. It is expected that the impact to volumes can be largely mitigated by redirecting product to other ports in North America, with impact on costs being assessed.   

Canpotex has agreed to a potash supply contract with its long-term customer, Indian Potash Limited (IPL) for potash shipments through to September 30, 2023, at a price of US$422/MT on a CFR basis.

HAMILTON, ON — Canpotex Limited is investing in its world-class supply chain to increase its efficiency, reliability, and safety by acquiring 1,300 custom railcars from National Steel Car (NSC) in Hamilton, Ontario. These new custom railcars from NSC will be added to Canpotex’s fleet of existing railcars, increasing the total fleet to 8,000 cars by June 2023.

The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre (SFBLC) celebrated a successful Milk Month Campaign with Canpotex. Thursday, October 6th, 2022 at 9:00 AM the event kicked off with speeches from Laurie, Executive Director at the SFBLC, and Gordon McKenzie, CEO of Canpotex. The total amount raised for Milk Month this year is $126,966.62.

SPSF is thrilled to announce Canpotex is committing to $75,000 x 3 years, starting October 1st, 2022, to support the purchase of food items for Cheer Crates. This kind of long-term funding gives SPSF an opportunity to provide sustainable support for students and families. More than 750 families will be provided with food, games, and personal care items through the delivery of Cheer Crates.

Canpotex confirms that it has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with three of its customers in India: Indian Potash Limited, Coromandel International Limited, and Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited. These MOUs confirm Canpotex’s willingness to supply, and each customer’s willingness to acquire, up to 500,000MT of potash annually during the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025.

The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre (SFBLC) aims to raise $100,000 in the month of September to ensure a litre of fresh milk is provided for every child visiting the organization.

Canpotex Limited (Canpotex), a fixture in Saskatoon’s business community and Canada’s largest overseas exporter of high-quality potash, is celebrating a major milestone in 2022 — 50 years of nourishing the world’s fields in pursuit of food security. 

Canpotex announced today that it has donated $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross – Ukraine Appeal which provides humanitarian assistance to those affected by the crisis in Ukraine, including Ukrainian refugees.
