The amount of potash that farmers use is directly related to the amount of food that our world consumes. The countries that Canpotex serves contain approximately 60% of the world's population. As the world population continues to grow and diets improve, it is paramount that farmers understand how best to improve and increase their crop yields. One way to achieve this goal is for farmers to ensure the right amount of fertilizer is applied to the crop, specifically through a balanced ratio of potash, nitrogen and phosphate.

The majority of Canpotex potash travels to Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia and is applied to a variety of crops, such as: rice, corn, sugar cane, coffee, palm oil, soybeans, bananas, potatoes, and many other fruits and vegetables. These crops are important to help feed the world's growing population, and Canpotex efficiently and reliably delivers Saskatchewan potash to our overseas customers, who benefit from the economies of scale built into our supply chain.
